VisoHub is an app for browsing and playing media that you own or are authorized to access, stored on your own Emby server or network storage (SMB, NFS, WebDAV). This policy describes what the app handles and what reaches our servers in VisoHub 1.0.

Your library stays on your device

Your library database — titles, artwork, watch progress, My List, searches in the app and settings — is stored on your device. It is not uploaded to us.

Your servers and passwords

The addresses, user names and passwords you enter for Emby, SMB, NFS or WebDAV are stored in your device's Keychain and are sent only to the server you entered, to sign in and read your files. They are never sent to us. If you use Emby, the app reports playback state to your own Emby server, as Emby clients do.

VisoHub Cloud

To identify your movies and TV shows and to fill in details that your own files (such as NFO files) don't include, the app asks our metadata service, VisoHub Cloud. A request can contain a video's file name (only the name — never its folder path, server address or credentials), the title, year, season and episode read from it, identifiers of titles from The Movie Database (TMDB), the language for the metadata, and which Cloud features the app supports. VisoHub Cloud looks the information up at TMDB and returns it. These requests are not linked to you, your device or an account: VisoHub has no accounts and the app sends no device or installation identifier. VisoHub Cloud keeps a shared cache of TMDB information, organized by title and not by user (search results for up to one hour, title details for up to seven days). It does not store your media library, your watch history or your NAS paths.

Usage statistics

VisoHub 1.0 does not collect usage statistics or analytics. If a future version does, we will update this policy first and describe what is collected and how to turn it off.

Server logs

Our servers keep technical request logs for security and to keep the service running: the time, a random request id, the type of request (for example "metadata look-up"), the result status, the response size and how long it took. They do not contain your IP address, search terms, titles, file names or the full address of the request. Logs are deleted after 14 days. Our network provider, Cloudflare, carries the connection to our servers and processes your IP address to do so, under its own privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

TMDB

Some metadata and artwork come from TMDB. Artwork is downloaded by the app directly from TMDB's image servers, so TMDB receives your IP address and the image requested, under TMDB's privacy policy (https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Update check

The app downloads a small file from update.visohub.com to see whether a newer version is available. The request carries no identifier and is logged like any other request (see Server logs).

What we don't do

VisoHub has no user accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos or payment information.

Children

VisoHub is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device. You can remove a media source at any time in Settings › Media Sources, which also removes its saved sign-in details. Questions: [email protected].
